Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park is located in the Olympic Penninsula in the state of Washington, USA. The park has three different regions: the Pacific coastline, the Olympic Mountains, and the rainforest.

Kalaloch beach is on the Pacific coastline. The beach has a lodge with a restaurant.

The coastal portion of the park is a 73 miles long rugged and sandy beach along with forest.   The mountains were formed by uplifting wedges related to the Juan De Fuca Plate subduction zone.  It has several glaciers and the tallest summit is Mount Deception (7,980 feet).  The western side of the park sports a rain forest, which is the wettest area in the continental USA.  It receives about 200 inches of precipitation per year.
