 About Us

Kim and Joon at Schilthorn (12,122 feet [3,695 m]) in the Bernese Alps.  Jungfrau (13,669 ft [4,166 m]) is in the background.

Greetings! Thank you for visiting my web site. I am an electrical engineer (My other web site at www.telecomreferences.com) and weekend photographer who enjoys the outdoors. My wife and soulmate is a CPA.  We have a lovely daughter and a wonderful son shown in the picture below. Stella is a resident at a hospital in New York City and Aaron works for a consulting firm in Boston.

It is a blessing for us to move to the Seattle area after living in wonderful Austin, Texas over 20 years. I would say that the Seattle area is a heaven on earth for those who love the outdoors. What about rain? Do you know that the annual precipitation of Seattle (35.5 inches, 90.2 cm) is much lower than New York City (49.7 inches, 126 cm)? Seattle's worldwide reputation for rain derives from the fact that the rain comes down over a longer period compared to other cities. Most of the precipitation falls as drizzle or light rain. Many cloudy days with drizzle throughout the year makes this area so clean and green.

After we moved to the Seattle area, I started sending photos almost every week to friends and relatives. It occurred to me recently that I should make a web site and share my photos with everyone who enjoys nature photos.

The picture above shows my wife (Kim) and myself (Joon) at Schilthorn in Switzerland.  Schilthorn may be a best place to see the Alps. Piz Gloria restaurant on top presents a stunning panoramic view of mountains, the Titlis, Jungfrau, Mönch, Eiger, over the Bernese Alps, the Jura mountains, the Black Forest and a glimpse of Mont Blanc. It is the location of the James Bond 007 film set, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". One of my favorite places, "Gimmelwald (4,593 ft [1,400 m])," is near Schilthorn. It is a sleepy mountain village perched high on the edge of a cliff. The only way to get there is by hiking or taking a cable car. The walk on the mountain slope between Gimmelwald and Mürren reveals stunning views of the Bernese Alps.  It is a great place to ride a sled in the winter. You can see the snow capped mountains turning into bright gold color in the morning. You can almost touch stars with your hands at night.

I hope you enjoyed my photos. If you have any questions or suggestions about my web site, feel free to contact me.  I will continue to update it with new photos. Let your friends and colleagues know about my web site. Thanks for your visit again. Have a great day!
